US cash is closed for the weekend. Tesla's last regular close is Friday: $348.75, down 1.71 percent, with the Nasdaq down 0.52 percent. That gave back Thursday's 2.60 percent bounce and lagged a down tape rather than leading one. Volume was about 33 million versus a 41 million Yahoo average, so don't hang a thesis on the session. After-hours is still the Friday print, $348.19, down another 56 cents. Don't overfit that. Next cash open is Monday around 11:30pm Melbourne.
Tesla quoted AI chief Ashok Elluswamy on Saturday with "Less than a week away" against Elluswamy's "The streets won't be the same anymore." That timing matches the invite-only Austin Cybercab launch on 3 September. RSVP closes 30 August at 11:59pm PT, which is 4:59pm Monday Melbourne. Teslarati said Tesla invited them. That is an event, not a confirmed paid public start. tesla.com still says Cybercab rides are "in the future."
Tesla is raising U.S. Wheel and Tire Protection Plan prices on 1 October. Model 3 Performance goes from $16 to $24 a month. Model Y Performance goes from $20 to $24. Other models were not in the notice Drive Tesla and Not a Tesla App saw. Cybertruck Windshield Protection Plan goes the other way, $35 to $25 a month, $120 a year cheaper. Coverage is unchanged: unlimited punctures, $25 deductible on a dead tire or wheel, and the windshield plan is unlimited chips plus one full replacement per 12 months. Rate change, not coverage change.
In Europe, Tesla is retiring the white Model Y interior on Premium Rear-Wheel Drive and All-Wheel Drive and putting Zen Grey in at €1,200. Germany, the UK, France, and Scandinavia are on the list. Performance still offers white. Base Model Y stays all black. Drive Tesla says that is the same swap Shanghai-built cars got in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Korea about four months ago. Model Y L already has Zen Grey in the U.S. Five-seat Premium in North America does not yet.
Louisiana Economic Development signed NDAs this month with Tesla and with Oracle, in records released Friday. Tesla's signer is Joshua Wheeler, head of lithium and recycling. The state has not said what the Tesla NDA covers, and LED's secretary declined to comment on any potential project. Separate from this week's SpaceX Vermilion Parish spaceport talk. Don't turn an NDA into a factory announcement.
Elon Musk said on X Saturday that SpaceX and Tesla are each building 100 gigawatts a year of solar production capacity as fast as possible, and that natural gas will still be needed to supplement and bootstrap solar for several years. He added that the limiting factor for gas turbine production is casting blades and vanes. That is Elon on X, not an IR filing, and the post cut off mid-sentence. KHOU on Saturday recapped Tesla's mid-August Texas tax-incentive filing for a $10.1 billion solar manufacturing site near Needville, with a clip citing nearly 10,000 jobs. That is a consider-and-seek-incentives filing, not a plant go-ahead.
Elon posted Sunday "Grok @Bot buys a Tesla." Not a Tesla App and Teslarati wrote that Grok Bot is coming to the car, off an X reply of "Stay tuned" from an xAI engineer that NATA says was later deleted. Grok Bot is xAI's cloud agent, not the in-car Grok voice from the Summer 2026 update. There is no Tesla software note or product page. Treat it as a teaser, not a ship date.
Tesla Robotaxi posted that it is now serving more of Dallas, with before-and-after maps of the service area. That is a geofence expansion in an existing unsupervised metro, not a new city and not a hours change. Paid unsupervised Model Y rides are still 6am to 10pm, seven days a week, in Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa.
Tesla Europe said the entry-level Model 3 now comes with 572 kilometers of WLTP range, up from 534, thanks to new tires. Not a Tesla App says that is a factory switch from 18-inch Photon to 18-inch Prismata on the Rear-Wheel Drive car in left-hand-drive European markets, with no battery change. The United Kingdom and Ireland configurators still show Photon and 534 kilometers. Rolling-resistance tweak, not a new pack.
Tesla Motors Australia emailed Hardware 3 owners that FSD Supervised v14 Lite is in active development for Australia and New Zealand. The same note says it is already rolling in North America and South Korea. That is development underway, not a release date, and Europe still does not have a matching note.
Einride's CEO, Roozbeh Charli, told FreightWaves they expect about 75 of their 500 Tesla Semis deployed this year and the rest by the end of 2027. Teslarati flagged the interview Friday. The original August 18 order was phased over 24 months starting September. Still an order, not trucks already in the yard.
Calendar: Cybercab Austin invite event is 3 September, RSVP 30 August 11:59pm PT, 4:59pm Monday Melbourne. Wheel and tire rate change is 1 October. Tesla Semi invite-only rollout at Sparks is 24 September, RSVP 2 September. IAA Transportation in Hannover is 15 to 20 September, where Tesla said it will unveil Semi specs for Europe. Street estimate for Q3 earnings is around 21 October.
