Tesla's invite-only Austin Cybercab launch is Thursday, 3 September. RSVP runs to 30 August 11:59pm PT, 4:59pm today Melbourne. Official Tesla X has been quiet since Saturday's "Less than a week away" post with Ashok Elluswamy. Not a Tesla App on Sunday wrote that Cybercab prototypes in downtown Austin are testing a multi-color RGB front light bar, with amber-orange and emerald-green on pick-ups, and that Teslarati has the same color showing in the Robotaxi app.

Elon posted Sunday evening Melbourne time, quoting a Los Angeles FSD user: "Try Tesla self-driving. It will improve your quality of life and may save your life." He also said power quality at SpaceX's Terafab can be solved with Tesla Megapacks, and that there is not enough nearby land to run the plant entirely on solar, so it will be partially solar-powered.

Docket NHTSA-2026-1585 extends comments on the 31 July interim final rule that already amended 49 CFR part 555 (91 FR 48307, effective that day) so a temporary exemption can cover vehicles manufactured before the grant date if the Administrator so determines, including FAST Act test-and-evaluation vehicles.
